"It's really cool to see local bands standing up for a local kid and doing it for free," Tubman said. "Having support from family and friends and letting people know there's help really makes a difference."

According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, suicide was the eighth-leading cause of death for all men in 2003. Suicide rates are generally higher in western states than the East or Midwest.

Proceeds from tonight's show are going to New Life for Girls, which attempts to free girls from drug addiction and trains them to have a productive role in society.
