Sophrenia McDowell, 42, of South Main Street, was charged Sept. 7 with possession of an open container and disorderly conduct. Police were called twice to an East Tallmadge Avenue home about McDowell harassing the residents. Her son arrived to take her home.
Eugene Allen, 46, of Schumacher Avenue, was charged Sept. 9 with theft from Sears, 2400 Romig Road. Police said Allen filled a shopping cart with clothes, shoes and other small items -- with a value of $433.35 -- then attempted to push the cart out of the store without paying.
Queitin Tyler, 22, of Tandy Lane, was charged Sept. 8 with two counts of domestic violence. Police said Tyler held his girlfriend, 19, over a bridge and threatened to kill her.
Richard Bergam, 44, of Brown Street, was charged Sept. 2 with theft and possessing criminal tools. Police said they saw Bergam shove three packages of steak down his pants without paying at Save-A-Lot, 1400 S. Arlington St. Upon further search, police said, they found Bergam had bungee cords wrapped around both of his legs to secure the packages inside his pants.
Daniel Mull, 48, was charged Sept. 1 with disorderly conduct and littering. Police said they found the intoxicated Mull urinating and having bowel movements at Grace Park.
Rashid Fitzgerald, 30, of Derbydale Road, was charged Aug. 25 with failure to comply with officer orders, obstructing official business and drug abuse. Police said Fitzgerald led them on an eight-minute car chase on I-76 and then on Kelly Avenue before fleeing the car. After a short foot chase, Fitzgerald was caught.
A 16-year-old Madison Avenue boy was assaulted Sept. 8 as he was walking home from school in the area of Indian Trail and 13th Street. He said a boy asked him for a dollar, but when he refused, he was punched in the head several times.
A home on the 700 block of Lovers Lane was reported broken into Sept. 7. Police said the burglar entered through the front door and stole tools and cash in the house.
Burglars apparently used a wrench to pry open the side door of a Russell Avenue home Sept. 7, police said. A 27-inch television, computer, DVD player and cable box were stolen, but the intruders left the television at the fence.
Someone broke into an Alfaretta Avenue home Sept. 7 through an unlocked kitchen window. The house was ransacked, but residents are unsure of what is missing.
A May Street home was broken into Sept. 6. The resident, 36, said the burglar entered through a broken back window. The resident told police a remote-controlled car, jewelry box and food were stolen.
Three boys set fire to two Koerber Avenue apartments Sept. 4. Police reports said the boys threw three beer bottles, thought to have been filled with gasoline, through the windows of the apartments and a car outside. The curtains caught on fire.
A 13-year-old Barberton boy and 13-year-old Castle Road boy were charged Sept. 9 with breaking and entering and vandalism. Reports said the boys broke out a window to the library of Essex Elementary School, 1160 Winhurst Drive, and began knocking over book shelves and dumping ink over the desks and floors.
A Julien Circle man, 65, was robbed Sept. 7 while he was walking on East Tallmadge Avenue. The man told police he was ``walking home from the bar with two prostitutes'' when he was ``jumped'' by two men who went through his pockets, but took nothing. Passers-by said they found him in the middle of the road and called police.
Holland Oil, 440 W. Market St., was robbed Sept. 7 by a woman. As the drive-through clerk was handing $13 in change to a customer, the woman walked over and told him a group of juveniles were out of hand in the front of the store. As the clerk started to turn around, the woman punched him in the face, took the money and fled, the police report said.
A masked, armed man entered Arby's, 1636 W. Market St., shortly before midnight Sept. 7, demanded and received money from the cash register before fleeing.
An 85-year-old Darrow Road man told police he was tricked Sept. 7 by a man ``in his fifties or sixties'' who offered to fix the cracks in his driveway for $400, but instead sprayed the cracks with black paint, took $540 from the customer's table and left.
A couple stole $700 Sept. 3 from a home on the 700 block of East Buchtel Avenue. The 77-year-old homeowner said she let the couple in to use her telephone, and while they were there, they stole a savings jar of $50-dollar bills and fled.
A 15-year-old Haven Avenue boy was charged Sept. 7 with delinquency by reason of domestic violence. He is accused of threatening to harm his mother. She told police that he destroyed things throughout the house.
Kevin E. Carte, 32, of George Street was arrested Sept. 5 on a warrant for domestic violence. Police discovered during a routine computer check that Carte also was wanted in Summit County on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender and a parole violation.
Robert L. Davis Jr., 45, who has no current address, was arrested Sept. 5 on a warrant from Summit County for failing to register as a sex offender.
James Rebovich, 24, of 17th Street Northwest was charged Sept. 6 with improper transportation of a firearm in a motor vehicle, aggravated menacing, and possession of marijuana.
Joseph E. Collins, 25, of East Huston Street was charged Sept. 5 with theft. A Lakemore woman reported that she was loading musical equipment into her van in the parking lot of the Leidertafel Club, 191 Second St. N.W., on Sept. 3. She said that while carrying a bag to the van, she saw Collins coming out of the van, holding her purse. A witness tried to stop Collins, but he fled. Some of the woman's property was found in a restaurant trash bin the next day. Collins returned more of the woman's property -- minus $400 in cash -- when he turned himself in to police Sept. 5.
A 32-year-old Akron woman reported that while she was in Barberton Municipal Court on Sept. 7, someone let the air out of her car tire. She suspects the people who are involved in the court case did the damage.
A Fifth Street Southeast man reported on Sept. 3 that while he was in the hospital for three months, jewelry, money, a gun and checks were stolen from his apartment.
James Hill, 24, of Barberton, was charged Sept. 3 with receiving stolen property and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. He is accused of driving a stolen 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. He reportedly refused to stop the car until he pulled into a relative's driveway in the 2800 block of Ridgewood Road.
Kandice R. Franjesh, 30, of Royal County Downs in Green and James J. Dovin, 36, of South Turkeyfoot Lake Road in Coventry Township were charged with burglary, theft and criminal damaging Sept. 4. Deputies said they forced their way into a home in the 3600 block of Boat Drive and took about $600 in cash.
Justin C. Wagner, 22, of Loneworth Lane in Coventry Township was charged with menacing and disorderly conduct Sept. 5. Deputies said he threatened to shoot and kill a neighbor, 35, and his two dogs.
An Eighth Street boy, 14, was charged with disrupting class Sept. 8. The boy was accused of kicking a desk and using profanity at Bolich Middle School, 2630 13th St.
Two Merline Street girls, 17, were accused of making threats to a teacher Sept. 8. The two were accused of threatening to harm and kill a teacher at Cuyahoga Falls High School, 2300 Fourth St.
A Curtis Avenue boy, 11, was charged with making threats to a teacher Sept. 8. The boy drew a picture of his teacher with an anvil falling on her head, police said.
Jeffrey C. Snyder, 21, of the 1900 block of High Street, was charged with carrying a prohibited weapon Sept. 4. Police said a meat cleaver with a 7-inch blade was found in his possession.
Seth W. Smith, 26, of the 2300 block of 17th Street, was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon Sept. 4. Police said Smith was observed walking down High Street with a double-sided ax.
Timothy L. Nelson Jr., 34, of the 400 block of Tyler Avenue, was charged with possession of drugs Sept. 7. Nelson had a vial of anabolic steroids, police said.
Zachary R. Craven, 23, of the 200 block of Kathron Avenue, was charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication Sept. 4. Police said he was found passed out in the weeds behind McDonald's, 1787 State Road.
Edward D. Elliott, 19, of the 600 block of Ardella Road, was charged with disorderly conduct Sept. 4. A woman told police that he pointed a pellet pistol with a laser beam at her and members of her family.
Eric Z. Massanyi, 26, of the 500 block of Stratford Avenue, Akron, was charged with public indecency Sept. 2. Police reports said Massanyi exposed himself o several people outside of Sheraton Suites, 1989 Front St.
Christopher Prochko, 56, of Akron was charged Sept. 7 with sexual imposition. Police were called to the Summit Mall Gap store to take a report of a man inappropriately touching an employee.
Lou V. Willis, 44, of Akron, was charged Sept. 9 with receiving stolen property. He is accused of driving a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo stolen from Perry Township. Police discovered the car was stolen during a traffic stop and routine computer check on Addyston Road.
Cynthia J. Long, 53, of South Main Street in Green was charged with domestic violence Sept. 2. Deputies said she struck her husband, 57, in the arm with a hanger at their home.
Gina M. Williams, 20, of Cottage Grove Road in Green was charged with domestic violence Sept. 4. Deputies said she assaulted her mother, 51, at their home.
John J. Plemel, 41, of the 4800 block of Hudson Drive, Stow, was charged Sept. 7 with slow speed, failure to comply, resisting arrest, operating a vehicle under the influence and blood alcohol content.
Renee M. Burger, 31, of Peninsula, was charged with theft Sept. 3. Police said she is accused of attempting to take $106.54 worth of groceries from Acme, 116 W. Streetsboro St., without paying.
Police were called to a home in the 3700 block of Orchard on Sept. 8 after someone entered the residence and heard what sounded like a person falling over things in the master bedroom. The person left and called 911 from a neighbor's house. Police found a portable TV on the kitchen floor and discovered that wedding rings and a necklace had been taken.
Michael Marks, 36, of Cleveland-Massillon Road was charged Sept. 4 with domestic violence. She reported that Marks pulled her hair, choked her, and bit her on the face. She said he threw her into a bedroom where he continued to slap and kick her.
Michael Andrews, 64, of Akron was arrested Sept. 4 on a warrant for retaliation. He is accused of continuing to harass employees at Radio Shack although he is facing charges for past incidents at the electronics store.
Daniel Michael Davis, 27, was charged Sept. 7 with impersonating a police officer. A clerk from Citgo, 4155 Cleveland-Massillon Road, called police to report that a man was inside the station, soliciting money from other customers..
Someone removed a window air conditioner to gain access to the office area of Sentry Stor-All, 2995 Newpark Drive, on Sept. 2. More than $400 in cash was taken and several storage units were broken into.
A Norton Avenue woman reported on Sept. 4 that her husband left their debit card at Brunswick Charger Lanes on Sept. 3. She said that while checking the account online, he noticed a charge of nearly $900 for merchandise from Low Cost Luxuries.
A handgun and rifle were taken from a home in the 3500 block of Johnson Road between Aug. 16 and Sept. 4. The owner told police he suspects that his grandson took the weapons.

A Higby Drive woman, 36, told police that someone intentionally struck her with a vehicle in the parking lot of her apartment building following a quarrel. Her vehicle was also struck. The woman suffered abrasions to her leg and complained of back, leg and foot pain.
Larry J. Calhoun, 59, of the 1100 block of Mac Drive, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 3. His 19-year-old daughter told police he punched her twice in the nose. She had a bloody nose, police reports said.
Eric R. Boyd, 20, of the 3400 block of Marcella Avenue, was charged Sept. 2 with operating a vehicle under the influence, weaving and prohibitions. Boyd's blood alcohol level was 0.269 percent, reports said.
Delores A. Smith, 44, of the 500 block of Stevens Avenue, Akron, was charged with theft Sept. 9. Police said she took two ribeye steaks valued at $17.88 from Sav-a-Lot, 65 Midway Plaza. Police stopped her car at Brittain and Tonawanda roads. Thomas E. Schaeffer, 41, also of the 500 block of Stevens Avenue, was charged with complicity.
Thomas J. Delaney, 50, of the 300 block of West Overdale Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication Sept. 10 after police were called to the residence.
Steven L. Arnold, 30, of the 200 block of Alden Street, Akron, was charged with public intoxication Sept. 8. Police said he was found passed out in a cab on West Main Street.
Michelle C. Kavanaugh, 21, of the 200 block of East Erie Street was charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication Sept. 10. Police said she stumbled across East Main Street and was almost struck by a police car.
Shannon M. Bartlett, 22, of the 700 block of Silver Meadows Boulevard, was charged Sept. 8 with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension and fleeing-eluding.
Deantonio D. Moore, 28, of the 2000 block of East Archwood Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 6 with having weapons while under disability, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlighted rear license plate.
Melvin H. Navarre Jr., 47, of the 600 block of Ada Street, was charged Sept. 3 with discharging firearms and using a weapon while intoxicated. Navarre shot a double-barreled shotgun into the ground in his backyard. His blood alcohol level was 0.283 percent, police said.
Cory W. Stewart, 22, of the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue, was charged Sept. 3 with disorderly conduct-intoxication and criminal mischief. Police found Stewart sitting in front of the Robin Hood Bar, 503 E. Main St., after he had been observed removing a valve cap and releasing the air from the tire of a Hummer.
Barbara A. Hawkins, 21, of the 400 block of South Water Street, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence Sept. 3. Police said she was found passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle in the drive-through lane at Taco Bell, 805 E. Main St. Police said they were unable to wake Hawkins, so they turned off the vehicle and pushed it out of the drive-through.
Katherine C. Hinett, 22, of the 500 block of South Depeyster, was charged with disorderly conduct Sept. 8. Police said she was seen urinating on the sidewalk on South Water Street.
Gary L. Johnson Jr., 24, of the 1600 block of Olympus Drive, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 8. Police said he struck his fiance in the face, knocked her to the ground and kicked her twice in the stomach.
James C. Humr Jr., 45, of Mantua, was charged Sept. 7 with six counts of trafficking in cocaine, two counts of illegal manufacturing of drugs and possession of criminal tools.
Paul Smith, 41, of the 200 block of New Milford Road, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 2. Police said he is accused of assaulting his girlfriend. The charge is a felony because of a prior domestic violence conviction, police said.
Brandee N. Kendricks, 28, of the 600 block of Page Street, was charged with aggravated assault Sept. 9. Police said she went after two people with a knife, injuring both.
Maceo M. Wright, 28, of the 200 block of Pleasant Avenue, Kent, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon Sept. 9 following a traffic stop. Police said Wright had a loaded .38-caliber handgun in his waistband.
Kelly E. Cottrill, 25, of Garrettsville, was charged Sept. 7 with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police said Cottrill was seen walking in the area of Main and Sycamore streets with her breasts exposed.
Michael T. Mariana II, 25, of the 1200 block of Shadowlawn Drive, was charged with driving under the influence Sept. 3. Police said they found Mariana asleep behind the wheel of his running vehicle at South Diamond Street and Emerald Lake.
Great Lakes Hyundai, 9630 State Route 14, reported grand theft Sept. 1. The catalytic converters had been cut from the undercarriages of 15 Tucsons, the police report said. The value of the parts was estimated at $16,500. Sugar had been put into the gas tank of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am a week earlier. The damage was estimated at $4,400.
Ian Lamb, 28, of the 1500 block of Russell, was charged Sept. 1 with domestic violence and disorderly conduct after he threatened his girlfriend. Police said he was using profanity with residents and children in the area.
Kenneth Speer, 47, of Cleveland, was charged Sept. 2 with receiving stolen property, driving under the influence, driving under suspension and speeding after police clocked him doing 56 mph in a 40 mph zone. Police said that Speer told them he had stolen the vehicle from a bar in Cleveland. His blood alcohol level was 0.220 percent, reports said.
Charles Gooseman, 65, of the 1600 block of Clarius Circle, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 3 after he threatened to kill his wife and struck her in the shoulder, police said.
Serema R. Wanzo, 19, Brian D. Robinson, 23, and Chelsea L. Taylor, 22, all of Cleveland, were charged with theft Sept. 7. Police said they placed nine pairs of jeans and 15 shirts, total value $1,388, into a bag and attempted to leave Dillard's at Westfield Shoppingtown at Belden Village without paying.
Damon S. Litsey, 42, of Maureen Drive Northwest in Jackson Township was charged with domestic violence Sept. 7. Police said he threatened to harm his wife and caused her to fall down some stairs at their home.
Anita K. Newman, 45, of Taft Avenue Northeast in Plain Township was charged with criminal trespassing Sept. 6. She continued to return to GE Capital, 4500 Munson Drive N.W., after being told not to return, police said.
Marshay D. Smith, 19, of Kingston Drive Southeast in Canton was charged with theft Aug. 28. She placed merchandise valued at $143.87 into a shopping bag and attempted to leave Gabriel Brothers, 5800 Whipple Ave. N.W., without paying, police said.
A video game system, television and video cassette recorder, total value $1,144.99, were taken Aug. 31 from a home in the 400 block of Sheraton Drive Northwest.
Alvin T. Ball, 56, of Fenton Avenue Northeast in Canton was charged with theft Sept. 11. Police said he took three packages of toilet paper and a package of cookies without paying from Kmart, 3801 Harmont Ave. N.E.
Jeffrey Hooker, 34, of Liverpool Township was charged Aug. 24 with domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his wife after she told him she wanted a divorce.
Larry D. Tigner, 43, of Barberton was charged Sept. 8 with falsification. During a traffic stop, Tigner gave his brother's name and identifying information to officers. He later told officers that he lied because he thought he had a warrant for his arrest.
A doctor with Wadsworth Rittman Hospital, 195 Wadsworth Road, reported on Aug. 5 that a man used deception to try to get a prescription for painkillers.
A man staying at Legacy Inn on High Street reported on Sept. 6 that a man kicked in the door to his room, took $550 from a table, then left, breaking his car window on the way out of the parking lot.
Brian H. Cicconetti, 31, of Canaan Township, was charged Sept. 4 with theft. Deputies said he refused to pay a cab driver $18 for a ride. On Sept. 6, Cicconetti was charged with criminal trespass after he was found in a residence in the 400 block of North Buckeye Street, Wooster.
Tools valued at $8,750 were taken at different dates in August from a residence and a shed in the 4200 block of Eastern Road, Chippewa Township.
On Sept. 5, a driver of a $30,000 box truck owned by McIlvaine Trucking of Wayne Township picked up a load of cereal valued at $20,000 in Columbus, but never delivered the product to New York.
Police seized 27 grams of crack cocaine Sept. 6 at a residence in the 400 block of Nold Avenue. Charged with possession of crack cocaine and occupying a drug premises were David P. Brown, 41; Carleton C. Flannagan, 22; Myesha R. Carroll, 22; Helen R. Waucaush, 23; Deon D. Dyson, 28, all of Wooster; Tiffany M. Sutton, 21, address unknown, and Clifford L. Biddles, 24, of Detroit. Pamela S. Wilson, 41, of Wooster, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and occupying a drug premises.
