A former factory supervisor on trial for raping his 14-year-old pen pal told a Sessions Court here that he let the girl stay with him because she had run away from home as she was pregnant.

Lim, who has a wife and two-year-old twin daughters, is charged with three counts of raping the girl at his home in Jalan Kurau, Jelutong, in 2004 – between 9am and 8pm from Sept 23 to 25, at about 9am between Oct 4 and 8, and at about 1pm on Oct 13.

Counsel also said the prosecution had suppressed evidence by not ordering a DNA analysis on the embryonic sac which was removed when the pregnancy was termi-nated.

Azman submitted that the prosecution was not aware of the termination of the girl's pregnancy at that time and therefore had no opportunity to order a DNA analysis.
