As the 2nd anniversary of the Madrid March 11th train bombings approaches, the EL Mundo newspaper continues with revelations from the case. Today it says the car that ‘appeared' at one of the station car parks in Alcalá de Henares, had previously been in police hands. The paper claims that it could have been a false lead placed by members of the state security services. El Mundo says the Skoda was towed from a Madrid street in December 2003 after being abandoned.

El Mundo reports that the attorney general, Cándido Conde-Pumpido, has criticised the Supreme Court ruling which has resulted in the ETA prisoner Henri Parot having to serve 30 years. He was charged under the old penal code which only allows top sentences of 20 years, and Conde Pumpido thinks that should not have been changed, or there was no legal basis for doing so.

El Pais leads with the Iran nuclear conflict. The paper says the matter is now in the hands of the Security Council. Tehran has said it will continue to enrich Uranium.

El Pais reports that the PSOE Socialists have agreed to let the Catalan regional government be the authority to name the director of the El Prat airport in Barcelona. This despite the fact that central government will control 51% of the running of the airport under the new Catalan Statute.

La Razón reports a marked increase of fines in Cataluña for people only advertising in Castellano and not also in Catalan. More than 60 companies were fined last year.

Marbella's mayor has seen her house embargoed and its covered on the front page of El Mundo. Marisol Yagüe has not paid for a ‘reform' of her home which cost nearly a million €. Allegations too that she wanted to use public funds for the work.

El Mundo has a picture of a very slim Deputy Prime Minister. Maria Teresa Fernández de la Vega, is shown dancing dressed in yellow and green, in Mozambique. She's there for a women's conference on women's issues Maputo.

ABC leads with a change from the Ministry of Justice who issued a law on March 3rd using the words ‘father' and ‘mother'. These will become ‘A' and ‘B' to cover situations where parents are of the same sex.

El Mundo reports that the Ministry of the Interior released 25 illegal immigrants to their own devices in Madrid, after taking them to Guinea and then bringing them back when they were not allowed entry.
