From Staff Reports Police arrested a 24-year-old convicted sexual offender Thursday and charged him with an assault that occurred more than two years ago.

A 20-year-old woman told police Monday that she had fallen asleep at a get-together in July 2003 and awoke to find that Mursewick had committed a sexual offense against her, said Jim Sughrue, police spokesman. The woman came forward after speaking with friends who encouraged her to report the incident.
